Message His opinions are his own. I'm not dragging him into this discussion. I do consider Don a friend and trust him more than virtually any other Z guy. I chose the 30p's partially due to his comments on the short side radius. We never really talked about maximum CFM numbers.

You may want to read up on modern head design. Let me post a few links.

Port design has evolved over time. Since our heads were designed in the late 1980's there have been some big improvements. I'm not a head expert but I wouldn't start with a head that contains intake ports of an inferior shape (barring some odd water jacket clearance problem).
